Mondays Hot Couple and Warriors Cross

I’m having a fruit & juice day today – a necessary thing after all the copious meals we shared with family and friends the past couple of days. But gosh, it makes me cranky!

Good thing it’s time for Monday’s Hot Couple :) And since I didn’t post my Friday’s Happy Gay Couple because of Christmas I’ll add that one too. Maybe they can make me forget about my empty stomach and the whooshy feeling in my head…

The plan is to live on fruit & juice until Wednesday but I already doubt my own intention… Especially since I wanted to do one of those looking-back-on¬-my-2009-reads posts. But we’ll see how things go. Because I also have a few reviews to finish and if the tummy noises are getting too loud to do that I’ll just have to eat for my blog’s sake ;)

There’s at least one thing I want to share today: I finished early this morning one of the best M/M romances I’ve read this year. It’s Warrior’s Cross by Madeleine Urban & Abigail Roux. And the surprising thing is that there weren't that many sex scenes in this book, it was just plotted and written very well, which made it exciting and hot! It’s a character driven story, the heroes are three dimensional, lifelike characters & I loved them! It was really very hard to put Warrior’s Cross down, I highly recommend it!
Have a Happy Monday!

  2. Whoa! Love that second picture - thanks!

I haven't read Warrior's Cross yet, although it's on my ereader. I did read Cut & Run by the same authors over the weekend and was disappointed - it dragged on, alas. I did enjoy Caught Running and lovedThe One That Got Away by them...

    I'm reading Sean Kennedy's Tigers & Devils right now - it's excellent.

  3. @Mandi: It's the December book of the Goodreads M/M group I recently joined and that's how I learned about it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! :)

@Chris: Warrior's Cross is the first book I've read by these authors but I def wanna read more, 'cause I love their writing. I'll leave Cut & Run be than and start with The One That Got Away. The summary sounds a lot like A Helping Hand by Shayla Kersten that I liked a lot!
I'm having Tigers & Devils on my laptop too... I'm receiving my new Sony ereader tomorrow and I think this book will be one of the first to try out on the ereader! :)

  4. I loved Helping Hands, too! :)

Make sure you get the 2nd edition of The One that Got Away, which just came out.

  5. Janna, I hope you love your Sony as much as I love mine! I take it everywhere I go.

Warrior's Cross has been on my ereader for a while; I'll have to get around to it soon. I do like both authors, and I enjoyed Cut & Run. I'm waiting impatiently for its sequel.

    Love the pics! Hot!

  6. @Chris: Thanks for the tip! Couldn't bring myself to be patient and I just downloaded the 2nd ed of The One that Got Away. Can't wait to start it :)

@Eyre: Yeah, that was my plan too, to take it everywhere! My laptop is hard to fit in my purse, even if it's a small one ;) I'm so looking forward to the Sony, Yay!
I never read anything by these 2 authors before, but I'm glad I discovered their work! :D

  7. Plus ereaders are lighter and just generally more pleasant to read on than a laptop (even my wee 9" netbook).

    I hope you enjoy!! :)

  9. I am adding warrior's Cross to my TBBL but i'm kinda distracted, as usual, by your hottie of the week. I'm grabbing spunge, soap and I'm so getting in the shower and lather him up :)

  10. Tomorrow will start my tuna fish diet ::Sigh:: I dare not step on the scale or I'll cry big fat tears I'm sure, and wail to my hubs "how can you even look at me". I'm such a drama queen.

    *writes down* Warrior's Cross!

  13. @Blodeuedd: Yeah, Jan 1st sounds good... I can use the extra days to get my thoughts organised :) I can hardly remember what I read last week or last month, so let alone earlier this year... ;)

  14. OMG!!!!!Both couples are just soooooo sexy, pic #2 definately has the WoW factor.....Yummy! need to go and catch my breath now LOL. I don't have any M/M books on my TBR yet, I need one that's heavy on the romance is this one like that.

  15. @Adrienne: LOL, just what I was aiming for with the 2nd pic ;)
I think Warrior's Cross would be a good M/M read for a first because it's pretty heavy on the romance and very light on the explicit sex (I think there only was one, maybe two, hot sex scene). And most important it's beautifully written and has quite some action. I think you would like it :)
