Sept 02, 2012

Three years ago, Winston Abernathy did something completely out of character - he had a one night stand with a gorgeous dancer. But the next day the dancer left for New York to try to make it big on Broadway and Win went back to dating men who were like himself - boring, bland paralegals.

Now that dancer, Randy Lincoln, is back in Los Angles. That amazing night with Randy h...more

Happy Gay Friday: A Book-free Week & Discovering New Creativity and Apps

TGIF! And thank goodness for surviving this week. It’s been a bad week for me emotionally. Without a reason I’ve been sad and unhappy. And it wasn’t even that time of the month (no hormones in sight). I think maybe going back to work didn’t agree with me very much. Hubs started to become desperate from seeing me like this for so many days in a row, instead of my usual 30 minutes of hormonal fits. This whole week I felt so unbalanced that I couldn’t read any books either. That was not just due to the fact that it was hard to decide what book to pick after the last Ty & Zane book...

Backblurb:
Aspiring television writer Evan Walker has been in love with his best friend since high school, but Kyle doesn’t do boyfriends. Never has. Never will. Evan knows it’s a bad idea to give in to desire when he wants more than a friend with benefits. He has a new dream job. Now all he needs is the dream partner. Kyle Bennett is a mystery novelist with a severe case of writer’s block. He needs a change. He has three days on their cross-country train trip home for the holidays to figure out how to tell Evan he’s staying there for good. He also has to write the overdue pages for his editor. Only, he’s a little too distracted by the close quarters in their sleeper compartment—and Evan’s ass—to get much done. The sparks that fly between them are hotter than ever. Good thing they have a real-life mystery to focus on: why people all around them, including Evan’s new boss, want to get their hands on a journal that once belonged to Kyle’s grandfather. When a blizzard traps them in the mountains, Kyle and Evan steam up the train’s windows and must finally face their true desires.

Backblurb:
Kevin knows Alex’s flaws better than most—after all, he’s been the man’s sidekick for two years now. And he’s been lusting after the hero for nearly as long, once he got over the overwhelming urge to beat Alex over the head with something. Unfortunately, the urge still reappears on occasion, and their latest case is stretching both of their tempers to the limits. So the last thing Kevin needs to add to the mix is a budding romance, but that’s exactly what happens when Alex kisses him. That is, if you can call a humping, grinding, passionate embrace a mere kiss.

Happy Gay Friday: Bye Bye Vacation & My Vacation Reads

Our time in Greece has come to an end. Sadly. But it's also nice to be home again. I was glad I could catch up again with my BFF while lounging in her garden today. And at least it's less hot here while still sunny. After a heat wave in Greece with temperatures near to 40 degrees (104.0ºF), the hotness of 30 degrees (86.0ºF) here is nice and cool, lol.
So, summer has finally come to the Netherlands it seems. Which means beach time! Woohoo! Tomorrow I have a date with Lis and author Blaine D. Arden to go to the beach together! And with a bit of luck we'll see Leontine as well.

Anyway, hubs and I had a great vacation, with lots of doing nothing, swimming, reading, lounging on our veranda with a family of little kittens, watching the Olympics, eating Greek food, strolling through the small (and steep) streets of the old village and sleeping. It was a really lazy vacation and it was just what we needed.
Here's a small selection of the photo's I took:

Happy Gay Friday & Sexy, Smutty Scene from Summerschool by Tam Ames

While I'm still doing the lazy vacation thing in Greece, I've gotten Tam's permission to post a little teaser from her latest m/m release Summer School. It's the first 'Sexy, Smutty Scene' feature I'm posting since a long time, but I hope to do it on a more regular base again in the future. I'd forgotten how much fun it is to search for one of those scenes! Here's a very hot encounter from Summer School by Tam Ames. I love the battle for control and the level of anticipation between the characters Jeremy and Lucas. Enjoy!

Amsterdam Canal Pride Meet

Hiya! Lis here! I've taken over the blog with a special post, now that Janna is lying in the sun!

A while back Janna send Leontine and author Blaine D. Arden an e-mail to meet up. Not just to meet up at any place either but at the annual Amsterdam Canal Pride. We all agreed it would be a wicked good idea and I had my calendar marked. Unfortunately, Janna came to the realization that she and her hub had booked a holiday to the lovely warm and sunny Greece at the same time. That didn’t stop us, however, so the date was still on with the promise to send Janna many a picture. Only two days before the big event, Leontine realized she was not feeling too well to be able to meet up. So two man down, Blaine and I still decided to go ahead with the meet. And we both had no regrets about that at all.

Happy Gay Friday & Pre Vacation Stress

Sunny Greece

I wrote this post yesterday because early this morning (very early!) hubs and I left for a vacation in Greece. It’s nice and warm over there and it’s rather cold over here, so a couple of weeks ago we spontaneously decided to go. Our destination will be one of the islands, Lesbos.
Unfortunately this means that I won’t be able to go to the Amsterdam Gay Pride with Lis, Leontine and Blaine this Saturday. I feel really bad about that. :(
But they will take lots of pictures, they promised me and Lis will write a blog post about their entanglements with lots of photos (I hope) and she’ll post it here next week, probably Tuesday. Yay!

Meanwhile, I’m having a bit of pre vacation stress. Oi. It’s just that I feel like I have to do so much before we leave.
