It’s one of those days on which my head feels empty (or too full) and only random thoughts are surfacing. You know that feeling? Or am I the only one who has them?
Anyway, random thoughts cause random posts, so here’s some of that randomness:
1.
I’m currently reading Talker by Amy Lane, that I might feel a bit prejudiced about because I loved the Dedication. ;) It reminded me of myself and hubby and how we started out. It says:
ALL of my work, whether I remember the dedication or not, is somehow dedicated to my husband. “Mate” and I have been together since we were nineteen years old.
We were the ones with the restaurant jobs, taking classes, while living in the shitty apartment. We were the ones with the poor-man’s Christmas tree, and we were the ones who had to choose between heat and light. (We chose light and were grateful for the big camping sleeping bags my parents gave us for Christmas. They were later stolen, because hey—did I mention it was a shitty apartment?)
I write a lot of stories about young love and first-time lovers, and I do it with optimism that the lovers will make it, because Mate and I did. So when you get to the end, don’t worry about Brian and Talker. Have a little faith. Turns out that sometimes, faith and a sense of humor really can be all you need. (And a chance to raid your parents’ garden or eat free restaurant food. That helps too.)
Isn’t that the cutest dedication evah?

Did you hear of the 18 & Over Tag Along Friday yet? It’s an initiative from Bitten by Paranormal Romance and is for a specific group of book bloggers who primarily post adult content and book reviews. Check out the list of 18+ bloggers who joined this tag along by clicking on the button below.

Last week Eyre posted a YouTube video with a song from The Cure which reminded me of my teens, when I was one of those black eyelined fans with highly back-combed purple hair, lol! Here’s a vid of their song ‘Lovesong’ that I still love and occasionally listen to.
4.
Aww
5.
I’m not sure what to think about this expression of love *g*:
6.
There’re a few upcoming novels that I’m jonesing for and of which I recently saw the covers. These are two of them (coming out in November and December):
7.
Let’s conclude with the shallow ;) The cover hussy in me started to purr because of these two covers.
I know at least one of these cover models is Jed Hill, who’s one of the hottest cover models out there (he’s also on Jaci Burton’s upcoming novel The Perfect Play). So, shall we drool a little more over this hottie?
Have a happy Friday!
Mmmm. Random is good. I really enjoyed Talker and Amy had the cutest dedication. She said she's working on the follow-up story for them.
ReplyDeleteLoved all the lovely cookies. Have a super weekend.
Love your random thoughts! Nice cover model...ahem...
ReplyDeleteNever you mind about your thoughts being random. Made for a great post!
ReplyDeleteI am now following you from the blog hop.

I like random. :) #5 = EEEEEEK.
ReplyDeleteBut the cookies make up for it. *nom nom nom*
Aw, I love that dedication!
ReplyDeleteThe back pelt, though...um...don't love that. It makes me itchy just looking at it. LOL.
Oh, Jed. You have my heart... or at least my libido!
ReplyDeleteI love me some bears but that much hair on a man's back is a cry for some wax and not just one heart-shaped spot. Just sayin...
ReplyDeleteSo glad I found your blog through the 18 & Over tag along. I'm a new follower. Excited to look around some more.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)
Touch the Night
LOVE LOVE LOVE The covers you listed. I have Mesmerized on my TBR list. Also, love the pics of Jed Hill. He's a hottie :)
ReplyDeleteHello, It's finally Friday!
ReplyDeleteI'm just stopping by on the tag along. I'm an old follower of your blog.
I hope you have a good weekend.
@Tam: That's good to know that Amy's working on a follow-up story! Thanks, have a super weekend too! :D
ReplyDelete@Julia: *g* glad you like him! :)
@Chazz: Thanks, Chazz! :) And I'm glad you found my place and I found yours! Here's to lots of fun booktalk! :D
@Chris: Lol, maybe I should do the randomness more often! ;D Glad you enjoyed the cookies!
@Ava: It's the cutest dedication I've seen so far! *grin* The back pelt is making me itchy too!
@Sweets: Jed is making me throb too! ;)
@Jason: Yeah, I'm with you. I don't mind some hair on a guy either, just as long as it's on his front and some skin is still showing! :)
@Angela: Welcome to my place! :) I hope you like what you see. I found your place too, it looks great! Happy Friday! :)
@Christy: Those are gorgeous covers, aren't they?! If only the stories are half as good, they'll rock! I'm glad you liked Jed's pics. :)
@Danielle: I know you are, hon! You're a regular commenter and you're on my blogroll, so be sure that I'll stop by later at your place as well! :)
Hope you have a fabulous weekend too! :)
Great post! Randomness can be so much fun sometimes. :)
ReplyDeleteI really liked Talker and the dedication was so sweet.
I've seen the 18 & Over at a couple of places. Maybe I'll check it out.
Thanks for the musical memory, cute kitty and eek, not the bear back. LOL
Love the model pics. So sexy!
Have a fabulous weekend.
@Lily: Glad you think it's fun! :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog would fit perfectly in the 18 & Over hop. Let's spread the m/m love! :D
Have a fab weekend too, Lily!
Hello Janna. I'm here strictly for the randomness, and nothing else. Yup, faith and a sense of humor. I'll drink to that.
ReplyDelete@Mr V: Well hello, so nice to see you again! :) Even if it's only for the randomness. ;) Let me have a drink with you. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteLol, you made me go awwwww and then ewwwww- that is one hairy man
ReplyDelete@Blodeuedd: Lol, you don't like them hairy then, B? *g*
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tag along visit! I chased you back here and to twitter. =)
ReplyDelete@Ragan: Great! I look forward to talking books with you! :D
ReplyDeleteHi, Janna, thanks for drawing my attention to the 18 and Older blog tagalong! Very nice photos of Jed Hill, too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your random thoughts! First I agree that is the sweetest dedication and second thank you so much for the Jed Hill fix!! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDelete@Val: You're welcome, Val. Glad you enjoyed the pictures too. :)
ReplyDelete@Tricia: Thanks, Tricia! I think Jed should return regularly on my blog, don't you agree? ;) Have a wonderful weekend too!
Peeking in to say hello!! I've been out of the loop lately. Love your new bloggy layout and your random post. xoxo
ReplyDeleteBe glad to Janna. I'll supply the whiskey if you supply the blindfold.
ReplyDelete@FV: *waves* I'm happy to see you again, hon! Thanks for liking my new layout, I thought it was time for a little change. :)
ReplyDelete@Mr V: *looks puzzled* Blindfold, Mr V?
So I can relax, and sit and talk to you, without having to look at the pictures.
ReplyDelete@Mr V: But I posted a really nice and decent picture for you today, Mr. V! ;D
ReplyDeleteYup, you sure did, and I appreciate it. Thing is I like to pay my dues and return comments when I can, but it ain't easy when most of your posts are book reviews. I was quick to hop on this one because of it's randomness, but... well, we don't have to go into that again. Like you say... love is love, and I can't quibble with that. I wouldn't hold anything against those two fellas. Hell, you can bet your sweet life on that.
ReplyDelete@Mr V: Don't worry about paying dues or returning comments, Mr V. It's always a pleasure to visit your place and I know my man love pictures are a bit bothersome for you. ;) But I'm glad that you agree that love is love! *hugs*
ReplyDeleteOK Janna, thanks. But I'll still chip in when I can.
ReplyDeleteI love you for that, Mr V! :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the dedication.
ReplyDeleteAs for that back - Janna, you have scarred me for life :)
Oww, I'm sorry for the scarring, Orannia! ;D
