Happy Gay Friday: Bye Bye Vacation & My Vacation Reads

Our time in Greece has come to an end. Sadly. But it's also nice to be home again. I was glad I could catch up again with my BFF while lounging in her garden today. And at least it's less hot here while still sunny. After a heat wave in Greece with temperatures near to 40 degrees (104.0ºF), the hotness of 30 degrees (86.0ºF) here is nice and cool, lol.
So, summer has finally come to the Netherlands it seems. Which means beach time! Woohoo! Tomorrow I have a date with Lis and author Blaine D. Arden to go to the beach together! And with a bit of luck we'll see Leontine as well.

Anyway, hubs and I had a great vacation, with lots of doing nothing, swimming, reading, lounging on our veranda with a family of little kittens, watching the Olympics, eating Greek food, strolling through the small (and steep) streets of the old village and sleeping. It was a really lazy vacation and it was just what we needed.
Here's a small selection of the photo's I took:

Silly me, I had to become attached to the little kittens of course, and I was actually missing them badly when we were home again. I mean, look at them. I took dozens of pics of them. They were so cute!

I did quite some reading. Sort of. Although it were only about 6 books in total, they were counting more pages than my usual reads during the week. Still, not a spectacular number, lol. In my defense, I did slip in an M/F Paranormal Romance, which took me more time to read than the other books...
I’m too lazy right now to tell you what my thoughts were on these books, so I’ll just sum them up today. Maybe later I’ll write a bit more about them…

Armed & Dangerous by Abigail Roux
Summer School by Tam Ames
Cover Me by LB Gregg

Bartender PI by Ethan Stone
The Vampire Queen’s Servant by Joey W. Hill
Stars & Stripes by Abigail Roux

The last book I read as an ARC, together with Sharon, who is a huge fan of the series too, and now that I’m back home and have access to a computer again, you can expect the review soon! Speaking of upcoming reviews: I need to start scheduling them soon, because we have a few of them on the shelves. Aside from Stars & Stripes there’s one coming up about Aleksandr Voinov’s Dark Soul books by Sharon, one about Sloan Parker’s Take Me Home and Tam Ames’ Summer School by me, plus one about Andrew Grey’s A Foreign Range and Missy Welsh’s Oscar’s Soul by Lis. These reviews are all written, just need to be formatted and scheduled, that’s all. :)

Well, and to conclude this HGF post I’d like to share some Cover Lovin’ of a book that I preordered and that will be available tomorrow.

It was not *just* the cover that made me buy this book, although I think it’s very pretty and fascinating, but the blurb intrigues me as well ánd I’ve read Taxes and TARDIS by this author which I enjoyed quite a lot. So, let’s hope the story of Point of No Return will live up to all the expectation now. :)

Happy Gay Friday everyone!

  3. Oh wow. Those pictures are wonderful. I love Greece and would love to go back to one of the islands. I've only been to Athens, but even there I was amazed at how gorgeous the sea was. I remember in Turkey our resort had an outdoor dining area and there were a few cats that lived there and hung out hoping for dinner. So cute.

It's always hard to come back, but enjoy your beach day with the girls.

    1. Turkey is actually very close to Lesbos. We could see the Turkisch coast from where we stayed.
The day on the beach was wonderful and a good way to spend the last weekend of my vacation time! :D

    1. Lolol! If you think 22c is hot already than you better avoid Greece in Summer indeed! :) But maybe a visit in Spring is a nice alternative for you.
