This week's HGF post is written while I'm already in New Orleans. Leontine and I arrived here the day before yesterday. The purpose of our visit is, of course, the GayRomLit convention which is being held here from October 13-16. But since we traveled all this way from the Netherlands it would've been a waste if we wouldn't stay a bit longer in this exciting city. Hence our early arrival.
Which gives us plenty of time to do some fun stuff, like a plantation tour, the French Market, riding the street cars, shopping at the Riverwalk, visiting some museums and parks and walking down Bourbon st. And the most fun thing of all is meeting Patti, from Caught in Fab Romance, tomorrow!! She lives in New Orleans and we're meeting her and her daughters for coffee tomorrow morning and we'll visit the French Market together. I'm really excited about it!
Other than that I'm also very much enjoying this vacation time. I haven't had this much time to read and do nothing much since a long while and it's heaven! I'm very glad that Leontine and I do have the same pace and the same need for quiet time after a day full of activities.
I don't have pictures yet, I'm sorry, but I only brought my iPad and the pics are on my camera. Maybe I should buy a camera doc thingy or something, so that I can transfer photos to the iPad.
But when I'm back home I plan on doing a post on our time in New Orleans and of course about GayRomLit. :) And I will also have some guests on the blog from October 21-31 who will give their impression of GayRomLit! I really look forward to that! I'm going to combine this GayRomLit After Party with the Riptide Launch Party which is making a stop at my place too. I hope it's going to be lots of fun and there will be great prizes to win (among which an iPad).
Well, more about that later. First I'm planning to enjoy the hell out of my stay in NOLA!
Happy Gay Friday!
PS Unfortunately linking is a pain in the ass with this app I'm using on the iPad, so, apologies for the lack of links...
