It feels
like I've been away for a very long time, while in reality we were only 8 days
in Egypt. This was one of the most intense vacations we ever had.
Partly
because of all the family dynamics that went on in a group of 10 people (and
wow, do I have some selfish and/or obnoxious siblings) and partly because of
the beautiful experience of diving and snorkeling between the exotic and
colorful fish and coral reefs of the Red Sea. I definitely want to do that
again soon. The quiet and beautiful world under water is truly mesmerizing! I
couldn't get enough of it.
This is
probably also the first vacation during which I didn't manage to read much
books. There simply was no time and when I happened to have a small window of
time for myself, I couldn't concentrate enough on the words in the book because
of everything that was still whirling in my head. Things we did, things that
were said, things that happened. So, no book talk this Friday... I have to find
my reading groove again first and then hopefully next Friday's post will be
more 'bookish'. :)
Happy Gay
Friday!
~
Glad you had some quiet relaxing parts of the trip, even if they happened underwater. ;-D At least you didn't kill any of them... I hope.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit Egypt some day.
Lol, nope, I didn't kill any of my family members. :) My younger brother did a good job of almost getting killed himself though... by kissing a cobra, getting out in the desert on his own, annoying my older brother, etc. ;)
DeleteI hope you get a chance to go to Egypt one day, Tam. :D
She's baaaaaaaaaaaaaack! *tackle hug* mesa happy now!
ReplyDeleteHugs!! I'm very happy to be back too. :) And I look forward to dinner with you and Leo this Friday night!!
DeleteI'm so jealous of your vacation. Egypt is definitely on my list of where I want to go!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back and you can relax. I "love" my family but vacations with them can drive you insane. *hugs*
We plan to go back to Egypt one day with the two of us and visit more of the country. It has many beautiful places that I haven't seen yet. I hope you have the chance to go there too one day. :D
DeleteI'm glad it's not just me who has that experience with family! It's rather exhausting to spend so many days with them, lol. I think I OD'ed on family. I don't want to see them for a while. *g*
Great to have you back and wow, snorkeling sounds mesmerizing and very peaceful!! There can be such magic in the ocean! I can't wait to hear all about it next friday.
ReplyDeleteYou'll get your reading groove back...I just know it. It just takes one book and you feel it again ;)
(((hugs)))
If you ever get the chance to go snorkeling in such a beautiful place as the Red Sea, grab it with both hands, hon! You'll love it. :D
DeleteI'm sure I'll get my reading groove back too. :) I definitely keep trying to find that 5 star book which will pull me back in again! xoxo
Welcome back! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Chris! :D
