Backblurb:
Baltimore, Maryland, is a city in alarming distress. Rising violence is fanning the flames of public outrage, and all law enforcement agencies, including the FBI, are catching blame. Thus the FBI’s latest ideas to improve public relations: a municipal softball league and workshops for community leaders. But the new commitments just mean more time Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have to spend apart when they’re happily exploring how to be more than by-the-book partners.

Then the latest spate of crime explodes in their faces—literally—throwing the city, the Bureau, and Ty and Zane’s volatile partnership both in and out of the office into chaos. They’re hip-deep in trouble, trying to track down bombers and bank robbers in the dark with very few clues, and the only way to reach the light at the end of the tunnel together requires Ty and Zane to close their eyes and trust each other to the fiery end.

At book #4 in this continuous series it is impossible to not give spoilers about the previous books. So, if you haven’t read Cut & Run (book 1), STOP! Go download it now and join the Ty and Zane love club. Go ahead and download all 5 books, trust me.

Now we can get down to the business of talking about Divide & Conquer. I devoured the book. I am so invested in Ty and Zane’s story at this point that I could care less about the crime they had to solve. There is one, but it is more of a backdrop for moving Ty and Zane’s story forward. There is a group planting bombs all over the city in hopes of killing law enforcement officers. And it wouldn’t be a Ty/Zane story without one of them almost dying. This time Zane gets caught in an explosion and ends up losing his sight. I loved the way Ty took care of Zane. He is letting down some walls around Zane, and deep down he is desperate to have Zane love him. Zane is still floundering around trying to accept the fact that he needs Ty in a way he has never needed anyone before. Both guys also experience jealousy for the first time which translate into possessive sex… ponder on that one.

These guys have awesome sex and lots of it, but they are having more tender moments where they steal kisses and touches. Their relationship is becoming more romantic. One of my favorite scenes is where Ty seduces Zane with a slow dance in the living room. I felt like I had been seduced too!

We learn more about Ty and what happened to him and his best friend Nick while in the military that still haunts his dreams and the reason he behaves the way he does. His old recon buddies come to town for a social visit along with Nick and confessions are made that rock Ty’s world.

Like all the books the boys end up in a good place. Zane finally gets past his fear of loving Ty and accepts it. They will break your heart and then make it flutter in this one. I can’t get enough of their struggle to grab hold of what they both want so desperately, but are afraid to hope for. The ending will have your jaw dropping and screaming…but don’t worry. Book #5 is already out and so you don’t have to wait to find out what happens. Thank goodness!

  2. makes me want to be a gay man . This one doesn't even hold a candle to the next one as far as the whole Ty/Zane relationship thing goes. You will have to let me know when you have read it.

Truer words have never been spoken!

I love how as the books have progressed they have become far more about the characters and their developing relationship than about the suspense aspect.

As for the fifth book! *swoon* And not only is there a sixth book, but I have heard there is to be a seventh...about one of the secondary characters...the one I was hoping would get a book!

    3. It is Nick. And I found out about it because I joined the 'Ty & Zane are crack' group on GoodReads and posted a discussion about Nick, because after Divide & Conquer I fell hard for Nick and wanted him to have a HEA. And I was informed that Abi had confirmed a Nick book. And it's being written! *happy dancing*
