Happy Gay Friday & Other happinez

Life is beautiful, isn’t it? No no, I’m not on drugs, I’m just happy! :) And very glad that work is back to normal and the headache that bothered me the first half of this week is history! Today I had the day off, I slept in, went to the hair dresser and the book store. And tomorrow I’m going to Amsterdam with four of my girlfriends; visiting a few museums, doing some fun stuff, having lunch and dinner at some hip places. Sounds good, huh?

Not so fun though was the mouse I spotted in the kitchen tonight! Yes, a mouse!! Eeek!! Don’t think we’re slops or filthy people. We’re not! Honestly. So, it really puzzles me where that little creature came from. And I’m wondering with how many they are!? And how are we going to get rid of it/them? Maybe hubby will agree with me now that it’s really time for a new kitten, or two. After all, it’s already more than six months ago that our little Binny passed away…

On to the book stuff…
I’ve been slacking on my reviews this week. But hopefully I’ll find some time to write a few on Sunday. There are two m/m books that I’ve read and need to review: Jasper’s Journey by Lisa Marie Davis and Touch Me Gently by J.R. Loveless. Both are dealing with heroes who were badly abused in their childhood and have to learn to trust again. Pretty heavy stuff.

Two other m/m books I’ve read but probably won’t review, are Quarterback Sneek by Pepper Espinoza and Gayish by Kim Dare; an older and a new novella. These were short reads and very enjoyable. Both authors know how to entertain me repeatedly with hot heroes and sexy scenes. I love to read their m/m novellas in between longer books. Like the m/f novel I’m reading atm: Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione. I hope I can find the time to finish it this weekend!

What are your weekend plans?

Happy Friday!

  1. Yay for work getting back to normal! I took today off, too, although all I've done is take the kitties to the vet for their shots.

Have a great weekend - and thanks for the eye candy. :)

  2. Wow, what a fun Saturday you have planned. I think as winter approaches all the little creatures that were very content to live in the garden suddenly have decided to come indoors and stay warm. A cat will probably do the trick, hopefully.

  3. Eeek mouse! My parents only have mice on the attic, cos they never did anything with it so it is really just the space between the house and the roof

  4. @Chris: Yeah, I'm cheering too! :) And why are days off always too short? I had so many plans and now it's bedtime again *sigh*

@Tam: I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. *if only we didn't have to catch the 8.30 train* ;)
Yeah, it probably is the cold. Last week I already counted dozens of spiders and other bugs that found their way indoors. Hubs wants to try mousetraps first. :(

@Blodeuedd: I guess the mouse came from the basement, which is in the same state as your parents' attic. Or from outside. *shudders*

  5. Sounds like you had a fab, relaxing day! So jealous. I was stuck at the EDJ. No fair that Chris got to stay home, too. You all were having fun, not working, while I was dealing with idiots. No fair. LOL

A mouse...*shudder*...definitely time for a new kitty. Plus, new kitties are fun and huggable and oh, so cute. So if I were you, I'd ride the mouse thing for all it's worth so you can get a new kitty out of it. ;) Every time you hear a noise, you have to go 'was that a mouse? Husband, go check it out'. Eventually you'll wear him down and he'll agree to the kitty. Persistence is thy friend. LOL

  6. Hello my love! Yay on work getting back to normal. Hugs to you honey!!!

Eeekkk Miceses... yeah, not good. We had a little family one year... We live by a sugar cane field. So when they cut it down... they need a house and found mine. Yeah, really. I had one so brave, he would play peek-a-boo with me at night! So I understand your problem!

I hope all is well honey and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!!! Hugs and smooches to you!!!!!!!!!

  9. That is one awesome saturday you had Janna, nothing can replenish the battery again like some girl time ;) I'm glad headache is gone and I actually read TOUCH ME GENTLY which I found a wonderful M/M story but I couldn't get over the fact the older guy kept calling his younger lover, kid or young one. In my mind the 19y/o suddenly became 12 *pppffff* Didn't work all that wel when the kissing and the loving came in to the picture...

  11. @Ava: LOLOL! Your advice is priceless! :D Tonight we'll be at home together for the first time since Friday so I'm gonna put it into practise right away. I would really love to have a new kitten and I think the mouse was a sign that it's time *grin*

@Cecile: Argh, a whole family! You poor girl! I hope my mouse won't be of the brave sort! Smooches back to you, hun! I hope you had a great weekend as well. *mine was great! Amsterdam is always fun*

@KC: I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, KC! :)

    @Eyre: Thanks, Eyre! :D

@Leontine: Yep, you're absolutely right about the recharged battery, hon!
Ah yes, the 'kid' thing was one of my issues with Touch Me Gently as well! My review is scheduled for Wednesday if you like to hear what else I thought of this novel. :D

@Lis: Glad you think they're hot, Lis!
Really, at work? You'd think they would stay away from places with lots of people. I hope they don't come to close. ;)
