Let the weekend begin! I hope you enjoy this week’s gay couple.
I had the best M/M week I could wish for. I read and loved Tigers and Devils by Sean Kennedy, as my post yesterday proofs! I can’t stop declaring my love for this book and its narrator Simon :) So, one more time, if you haven’t read this book, go read it now, it’s fabulous!
I have a question for all the fellow lovers of this book, because I had a little convo on Twitter with Mr. Kennedy and a sequel was mentioned (I might have dropped the word)...
I would definitely read a sequel if there would be one released. My question is:
Would you want to read a sequel to Tigers and Devils or are you afraid that it might ruin it?
And another thing that popped up and I would love to know more about: Is the definite release date for Duty & Devotion by Tere Michaels announced yet? On the authors blog it said March, but no exact date yet…
Have a nice weekend!

No! I don't want a sequel! IMHO, sequels have a better chance of being disappointing than not. And I hate it when books that are written to be freestanding are suddenly the starting point of a series.
ReplyDeleteSadly, the Loose ID website doesn't have any date, either.
Since I did not read the book, I will not comment on that... but I will comment on the cookies you left for us.... Can I have some milk to go with my cookies!!! **batting eyelashes asking pretty please**
ReplyDeleteLet the weekend begin!!!
Sequel. Hmmm. Sean is a great writer but I'm just not sure what else there is to say about these guys. If it happens of course I'll read it, but I could live without it.
ReplyDeleteCan't say for the others. Have a great weekend.
I usually enjoy sequels if they're well done but I'm not sure in this case more is needed. On the other hand, if he writes it I will definitely read it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the cookie! :)
@Chris: Yeah a tiny little voice in my head is saying that as well, but still, I would read a sequel if Sean Kennedy wrote one, because I want more of Simon and Dec ;)
ReplyDeleteDarn, I was counting on you for the insiders info about D&D...
@Cecile: I have enough milk for you and me both, lol!
ReplyDelete@Tam: I'm not sure I can live without it ;) But I can always reread T&D of course!
ReplyDelete@Lily: Needed it's not, you're right. Because that would mean that T&D wasn't satisfying enough. But wanted yes :) Just because I would love to hear more about these characters.
ReplyDeleteOh, the cookie gets me all in a snuggly mood LOL I don't know about a sequel to T & D but I thought about a sequel to Butterfly Tattoo, I think that the power of such a story can (almost)never be duplicated. It is very rare that the sequel matches or supasses the original novel. So I'm going in re-read mode whenever i want to revisit the characters :)
ReplyDelete@Leontine: I know, I can always do that, but with these guys I also want to know how they are doing now. I just want more of them ;)
ReplyDelete...no comment. Must get back to you on that one ;)
ReplyDelete@Blodeuedd: Okay, does that mean you're gonna read Tigers and Devils? :D
ReplyDeleteI'm halfway through T&D and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteYay, I'm happy you like it too, Eyre! Looking forward to your thoughts on it :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Tigers and Devils yet. I've heard good things. It's on my wish list.
ReplyDelete@FV: You'll love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the shout-outs, and I'm so happy you liked the book!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the sequel - the problem I have is Simon is still in my head, and he keeps filling me in on things that have been happening to him. But I never intended TaD to be a series. Dash and Dingo and the steampunk I've been working on have from the start intended to be ongoing adventures. So I kind of feel like if I was to revisit TaD I could ruin it.
Still, Simon just won't shut up.
@Sean: You're welcome and thanks for visiting my blog but most of all for writing Tigers and Devils! :)
ReplyDeleteI see your point, books that are written as a stand alone maybe should stay that way... In the case of T&D I'm not so sure though ;)
Doesn't it mean something that Simon won't shut up? :D
